Chrome extension policy
A draft document structure. Legal wording, company details and jurisdiction are marked [LAWYER: review] and must be approved by a lawyer before sign-up opens.
Draft version dated 2026-10-17
This policy covers the ImportOS Margin extension for Chrome and Edge. It is written in plain language; the legal wording is reviewed by a lawyer.
1. What the extension reads
The extension works only on lot pages of supported auctions that you opened yourself in the browser under your own login. From that page it reads lot parameters: VIN, year, engine, damage, current bid and location.
2. What is sent to the server
Only the lot parameters needed for the calculation are sent to the ImportOS server. The page HTML is neither sent nor stored.
3. What the extension does not do
- It does not type or read your username and password.
- It does not bypass an auction's protections, CAPTCHAs or access restrictions.
- It does not read pages outside the supported auctions and does not collect browsing history.
- It does not sell data or use it for advertising.
4. What is stored in the browser
Settings (destination city, currency, your fee) and an offline cache of customs rules. Authorization goes through your Desk account.
5. Permissions
The extension requests access only to lot pages of supported auctions and to its own settings storage. The exact list of addresses will be published with the release. [LAWYER/owner: check against the manifest.]
6. Compliance with Chrome Web Store rules
Data obtained through the extension is used only to run its features. [LAWYER: review compliance with the Chrome Web Store Limited Use policy.]
7. Contact
[LAWYER/owner: state the contact for privacy requests.]
