In development

Know a lot's margin before you place a bid

Landed cost for UA, PL, LT, DE and GE with an explanation of every line, the maximum bid for your target margin, and an extension that shows all of this next to the lot.

This product is in development. The capabilities described follow the specification; some features may not be available yet during the trial.

Capabilities

What Margin includes

Calculator

  • Lot price, lot URL or VIN → autofill → destination country and city
  • A table of lines with explanations, formulas and links to sources
  • Market price estimate, margin and verdict
  • Compare up to four lots side by side, and saved calculations

Extension for Chrome and Edge

  • A panel next to the lot: landed cost for the chosen city, market price, margin
  • "Maximum bid for margin X" at a glance
  • Warnings: title, airbags, flooding, relists
  • A margin badge on every lot in result lists and "add to Desk", "send to client" buttons

A safe way of working

  • The extension reads data from a page you opened yourself under your own login
  • It does not sign in for you and does not bypass protection
  • Only lot parameters are sent to the server, never the page HTML
  • The full policy is under Legal

For clients and your website

  • A link to the calculation for your client in your brand
  • A customs widget for your site with a lead form: leads land in Desk
  • The free widget carries a "Powered by ImportOS" label
  • "Customs clearance for <make model year>" pages with a real calculation

Access levels

  • Free: 5 calculations a day without registration, no market price
  • Pro: unlimited, market price, the lot's sales history, export
  • Your own logistics tariffs instead of typical ones
  • The Pro extension is included in the Pro and Business plans

Try it

A live calculation on the same functions as the product

Change the bid, the country or the resale price. Exchange rates in the demo are fixed and logistics tariffs are typical, so the amounts show the mechanics, not an offer.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Where do the numbers come from?

Auction fees come from the public Copart and IAA tables on the date checked. Customs rates come from dated rules with links to laws and official pages. Logistics and services use your tariffs; until you enter them, typical values are used and the calculation warns you about it.

How is margin calculated?

Margin is the difference between the sale price and the cost, divided by the sale price; markup is shown separately. The default verdict: 15% and up is good, 8% and up is acceptable, 0% and up is risky, below that is not worth it. You can change the thresholds.

Does it work on auction pages?

The extension is being built for Copart and IAAI lot pages; selectors are tested against saved pages. Auctions can change their layout, so we have to update selectors after changes. We are not affiliated with the auctions.

What about zero duty for US cars in the EU?

The calculator accounts for EU Regulation 2026/1455 on the Polish, Lithuanian and German routes: 0% duty applies only to cars assembled in the US, with proof of direct transport. The calculator suggests the country of origin from the VIN, but documents are still required.
